References to the Del Stricklands in Paislian Literature

Sophie's brilliant arrival in the Glen, as the fae Amoret. Excerpt from The Original Tale of Paisley Glen:
"The Order of the Argent Dragon, had been called into battle to protect the Faerie Amoret, Daughter of the Sun. The Order of the Argent Dragon sucessfully protected Amoret and in turn, the Paislians gained respect and became favored by Venus, the Sun, and the rest of Amoret's family."

Lord Del Strickland, upon losing a bet. Excerpt from The Original Ballad of Paisley Glen:
"As the group continued its journey home
And neared their Paisley Pleasure Dome
They were followed by Amoret, fae of the Sun
And she found that that Edmund boy really was fun
To keep him as hers, she asked quite politely
Though she seemed off her rocker, ever so slightly
So Amoret, meek and weak little elf
Was driven out of her mind by her own mental health
And Sophie, in her place, joined Paisley her self"

Excerpt from The Paisley Glen Song:
The Lord Russ in the 20th Century. "Oh, Russ wasn't much of a drinker;
He never touched Whiskey or Gin.
After just one quick round of Tablero,
He never quit drinking again."

" Sophie, who used to be Hannah,
Was Amoret, Fae of the Sun.
Watch, while her persona changes -
Watch, and get ready to run!"

The Lady Sophie, as the Queen of Hearts.

Of House Del Strickland and the Creation of Paisley Poland

It came to pass, in the year 1576/1854/2003, that Paisley had grown overpopulated for the tastes of Russ and Sophie(known at the time as Robin.)It also came to pass that the Glen's landmass was at the time, unfortunately small, as Lord Ron Byron, Duke of Paisley Scotland, had only doled out a pittance of real estate for our Glorious Pleasure Dome.

It was resolved that something ought to be done about these problems, but to go up against Lord Byron was at that time unthinkable, as the Glen was descended from P. Germany, and Lord Byron has a long memory.

Luckily, one afternoon, unlooked-for help came in the form of a Great Wind.

The Paislians, the Del Strickland family included, had trekked off in search of free beveration. Far did they wander, and great was their thirst! They trekked across the future regions of P. Scotland, P. France, and even P. Greece, where Betty Caffeina doled out her precious namesake liqueur in her Temple. Finally, they reached the object of their quest, and turned homeward with buckets of free birch beer.

The Lady Sophia Del Strickland acts a bit fruity. While they had been away, the previously mentioned Great Wind had annexed the adjacent area! Several Paisleyan buildings had been blown across the divide and set down intact. The annexation was immediately codified by Lord Edmund, and christened "Paisley Poland," and was thus the first Duchy of the Glen*.

One problem solved, Lord Edmund immediately turned to the other. "Russ," quoth he, "How would you like to be a Duke?" The rest is history.

*Technically, the First Duchy in order of Creation is P. Scotland, followed by P. Germany. However, both of these pre-date the Glen, and are external duchies, anyway. For more information, see the page regarding Titles of Nobility
