Of Poppy and Smegford, as written in The Original Ballad of Paisley Glen and as written in The New, Improved Ballad of Paisley Glen

Young Poppy, working as a barmaid at her father's pub, The Sign of the Toad. "In a small, dainty pub on the side of the road
Outside of which was a sign with a toad,
Was a beautiful woman with hair of spun gold
About whom magnificent tales have been told
Poppy of the Leprechauns soon caught the eye of Smeg
Who quickly for her hand in marriage, from the floor, did beg
But Poppy told him to get up and with a smiling glance
Made Smeg's insides turn and twist and do a little dance
And that was the beginning of a wonderful romance."

Smeg's insides turn and twist and do a little dance."And then to Eye-er-land they went, this rag-tag group of friends
But this is most de-fin-ite-ly not where our story ends.

And at a pub beside a road which had a sign of wood
The group met Poppy, Leprechaun, which proved to be quite good

The Lady Poppy's beautiful and golden flowing hair
Had an effect on Smegford that mimicked lack of air

He fell in love immed'atly and with her smiling glance
All present knew that this would be a wonderful romance

Of Smegford and Poppy, as written in The Original Tale of Paisley Glen

When Smeg and Edmund awoke on the Lollipop, Smeg was dressed like this."...Finally, he went to sea with his best friend since youth, Smeg, after this episode proved futile (something involving altar boys and large brass candlesticks). Their ship, The Goodship Lollipop, was captured by dread pirates, from somewhere off the coast of Penzance. He joined with them, finding their captain, a pirate by the name of Morgan, friendly. From here they went on many an adventure that we shall not speak of in this tale.
Finally, tiring of the sea life, Edmund, Morgan and Smeg went on a tour of the Magnificent Continent of Europe where they met many colorful characters..."

Eerily gorgeous and reserved."As Lord and Lady Turnpike, Smeg, Captain Morgan, Clan ECANI, Madame Butterscotch, Orgasmo, and the Barbarian traveled through Ireland, They stumpbled into a pub tended by Poppy of the Leprechauns, an eerily gorgeous and reserved creature that captured the heart and imagination of Smeg. He tried impressing her with his skills (or lack thereof) learned in his days with Edmund when they trained as mercenaries, but Poppy was not impressed by this. What she was taken by, however, was his kind heart and amazing spirit, and they fell in love. Poppy joined their side as well."

As written of Poppy and Smeg in The Paisley Glen Song

Former Vice-President of Evil.
"Lord Smegford is always so witty,
And Smeggy is often Jocund.
The reason that Smeg is so jolly
Is that he's so very rotund!

"Miss Poppy is our own Camp Mother,
She cooks, cleans, and she breaks up fights.

Is Miss Poppy's secret delight!"
