The Ballad of Song
By Sean Thanpert
Two years have passed since that glorious day
When Miss Amarantha came in May
She stood tall and proud
With a husband quite loud
As they came down the road they sang with glee,
“Hail Paisley.
Sparkle on the land.
And paisley ever shall be grand.”
A passing traveler asked “ What is this sparkle on the land you speak of?”
“ Can you hold it?
Can you touch it?
What is it, this place that you love?”
As if ignoring the question Amarantha and her beloved continued to sing with glee
“Hail Paisley.
Sparkle on the land.
And paisley ever shall be grand.”
A messenger from the king came running
“I have news for all of you men so cunning.
If you wish to sing you must sing of the king.
If you wish to sing you must speak of his ring.”
Unexpectedly Amarantha bust out in song
“Oh the king, the majestic king
Oh the king, his paisley ring
We tip off our hats to we honor you in song, but is this wrong?”
