Constitution

The Paisley Glen Constitution and additions (collectively the "Paisley Carta") can be found by clicking this link. Minor adjustments and new rules arise periodically, and you can find an update of such things on the livejournal community (link left.)Further, here is a link with the original rules in Paisley Glen, and the Constitution of the Glen as of 2005.

Language in Paisley Glen

Paisley Glen does have something of its own dialect, used much in the constitution and throughout this site as well as at faire. You'd best learn something of it here.

This would be where the more significant threads on Paisley's ancient, discarded Yahoo Group are put, for reference and ease of use.

Joining Paisley Glen

Any new member of Paisley Glen is voted in. All members of the Glen present at the vote must come to a consensus. While anyone at all can be voted in (the vote itself happens in July) the best way to join is to be sponsored.

Sponsorship is explained in depth in the constitution, but basically it's a way for non-members to camp with Paisley Glen in their own tents while we test them out. In order to be sponsored, you must find a suitable sponsor (someone who camped with Paisley Glen the previous year) and be seconded. This does not guarantee that you will be accepted, but it will give us (and you) an idea about whether our relationship will work out.

If you are voted in you will be initiated during faire the following year. You will then be able to sponsor people the year after that. If you are not accepted, but your sponsor is still in good standing, they can sponsor you again.
