References to Lord Von Hale in Paislian Literature

Lord Von Hale relaxes his guard. Excerpt from The Original Tale of Paisley Glen:

"After they left Germany, they traveled to The Netherlands and found off the coast of the North Sea the Clan ECANI*, who had ended shipwrecked after their last and most harsh battle with the most montrous of all evil cephalopods. The injured and homeless crew joined the Paislians (named after the Turnpike's beloved home of Paisley Glen in England) and they started again on their journey."

Lascivious Libertine, or just misunderstood?Excerpt from The Paisley Glen Song:

"The Baron Von Hale's an atrocious
Lascivious, Libertine, Lech;
No matter how often we scold him,
He nibbles on nubile young flesh."

Excerpt from Paislian News-magazines regarding Lord Von Hale:

The former Grand Vizier of the Glen.
From The Paislian Gazeteer:

"The Baron works on sensitive projects in his workshops at the family keep, but he's also fond of the "Working Vacation." Thus he created Air Forge One as his mobile workshop and pleasureship. (Well, his ideas of pleasure are a bit eccentric, after all.)

Additionally, it's a marvelous test and observation platform for his larger experiments, and serves as an emergency repair bay/aerial recovery vehicle when necessary. Shown here as launched, it will no doubt change markedly over time as the Baron updates and modifies her."

The Baron, at his investiture
From the Court Circular of the Paislian Society Journal, penned by Von Hale's own hand:

"Dear Assembled Lords and Ladies of Worth:

To those of you amongst whom rumors still circulate, pertaining to my involvement in certain "Occult Activities," let me henceforth put your minds at ease.

The fraternal order to which I belong is merely a social group, no matter what you may have heard, second hand, from our disgruntled (former) housekeeping staff. I have no pretensions of "Secret Knowledge," or any involvement with "The Beyond," whatsoever; nor do I have any wish to acquire the same.

Nonsense, I say! This ridiculous cult of "Mors Justi" is laughable; obviously concocted by my detractors to de-value my stock holdings and interfere with my business affairs. It seems to me that they've been reading from that Gardener fellow's book, and embellishing with reckless abandon. And though I consider myself in fine health, if even a fraction of what I've heard I'm doing at this Lodge were true, any mortal man would certainly have perished from exhaustion some years ago.

Now let this be an end to it. Really, people- haven't you enough "entertainment" in your own lives without having to imagine your upstanding peers engaging in scandalous and highly improbable caballistic escapades? Forsooth! Read Byron or Milton if you require fantasy. Better yet, focus your mind on God and Country for the betterment of our glorious empire!

As Always, your Devoted Advisor and Friend,

Maximillian von Hale, (by the Grace of Our Lord and the Emperor,) 12th Baron of Hale's Pass"
